Quick answer
Round-trip shuttle from Mostar Old Town to Fortica Sky Walk. Hourly departures from 9:00; last return after sunset (so you can stay for golden hour and the lights coming on over Old Town). Sky Walk platform is free; book any adventure-park activity (zipline, climbing) on arrival. €11 / person (1–4 guests) or €6 / person (5+). May–October. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Confirmation in 60 seconds.
What you'll experience
Old Town to Fortica, every hour, both ways.
If you want to see Mostar from above, Fortica is the place. The Sky Walk platform — 35 metres of glass floor cantilevered over the slope, 500 m above the Old Town — is the city’s best viewpoint and it’s completely free to walk on. (Searched for it as Fortica skywalk, Mostar skywalk, Fortica viewpoint or just Fortica Mostar? All the same spot — the Austro-Hungarian fortress on Fortica hill, the eastern ridge above the city.)
The catch: getting up there. The road has 12 hairpin switchbacks, no public bus runs, taxis cost €11–12 each way and you have to call them back, and the foot path is 45 minutes of steep uphill that defeats most travellers in summer heat.
That’s why we run a hop-on hop-off shuttle. Hourly departures from the Stari Most parking, hourly returns from Fortica, runs May through October. €11 per person round-trip; you choose any return time you like.
What to do once you’re up there: walk the Sky Walk (free), drink a coffee at the café, photograph Old Town and the Neretva valley laid out below. If you want adrenaline, the adventure park has Bosnia’s longest zipline (570 m + 450 m dual cable, 50 BAM ≈ €26), a 30-metre climbing wall, a giant swing, an abseil tower, MTB rental, and a jeep safari up Velež. Pay those directly at the gate.
For most travellers, 1–1.5 hours on top is plenty. Sky Walk + a coffee + maybe one activity. For sunset visits, plan to be on the platform 60 minutes before sundown and take the final shuttle back after dark — it leaves Fortica after sunset.
Itinerary
What you'll experience
First shuttle from Old Town

FAQ
Frequently asked
How often does the shuttle run?
Every hour from 09:00 in both directions, May through October. Departures from Old Town on the hour (09:00, 10:00, 11:00...). Departures from Fortica on the half-hour (09:30, 10:30, 11:30...). The last shuttle leaves Fortica after sunset — typically around 21:00 in summer and 19:30 in shoulder months — so you can stay for the golden-hour view and ride back when the city lights come on.
Where exactly does it leave from in Old Town?
The Stari Most parking area, on the west side of the Old Bridge near the Hercegovina hotel. Look for a white minivan with the 'Explore Mostar Adventures' decal. Three minutes' walk from anywhere in Old Town.
Do I need to book in advance?
Strongly recommended in July/August (8-seat van fills up). For May–June and September–October you can usually walk up at the parking area, but message us in advance if your group is larger than 3 — we'll save seats.
Is the Sky Walk really free?
Yes. The platform itself has no entrance fee. Walk on it, take photos, leave. You only pay for adventure-park activities (zipline, climbing, swing, MTB, jeep safari) if you choose to do them. About half our guests just go up for the view + photos and don't do any activities.
How long should I plan to stay on Fortica?
Minimum 30 minutes for Sky Walk only (photos + a coffee). Allow 1–1.5 hours for Sky Walk + Big Zip Line. Allow 3+ hours if you want to do multiple activities (climbing + zipline + lunch). For a sunset visit, plan to arrive 60–90 minutes before sunset and take the post-sunset final shuttle back to Old Town.
Can I bring kids?
Yes. Kids 0–7 are free, 8–13 pay €4 round-trip (half price), 14+ pay full €11. The Sky Walk is fine for any age. The Big Zip Line is 50–110 kg only; smaller kids can do the 100 m little zipline (10 BAM) or the 20 m children's zipline (5 BAM).
Does the shuttle run in winter?
No — November through March, Fortica itself is only open on weekends and even then can close for snow/ice/wind. We resume the shuttle service in late April once the operator confirms daily opening. For winter weekend visits, drive yourself or take a taxi (€11–12).
Can I book the shuttle privately, just for my group?
Yes. €60 / round-trip for the full van (up to 8 guests) with a fixed pickup time — useful for proposals, sunset photographers, or families who want to set their own schedule. Add it at booking or message us.
What if I want to do the zipline — should I book that separately?
Yes — pay the zipline directly at the gate (50 BAM cash or card). Or book our Sky Walk + Zip Line combo which includes round-trip shuttle + Big Zip Line ticket bundled, saves you a few euros plus you skip the queue at the zipline counter.
What about going up specifically for sunset?
Sunset at the Sky Walk is the city's best photo moment, and the standard shuttle covers it — the last departure from Fortica is after sunset (typically around 21:00 in summer, 19:30 in shoulder months). Just take any earlier shuttle up, stay on the platform through golden hour, and ride the final shuttle back to Old Town. See our Fortica Sky Walk guide for sunset timing tips.
