What you'll experience
The Neretva Canyon, by boat — three hours under 1,500 m walls.
If you don’t want to paddle, the Neretva Canyon is just as spectacular from a boat.
We run two: a small 8-passenger speedboat for couples and families who want flexibility, and a 30-seat group boat with on-board sound system and a small bar for groups who want the social cruise. Both leave from Donje Paprasko at the southern end of Lake Grabovica, both head 50 minutes north into the canyon under Prenj and Čvrsnica, and both stop for two hours at Diva Grabovica — the same sandy beach the Red Bull cliff divers use for practice. Same price either way: €45 per person.
What you actually see on the cruise: limestone walls 1,500 m tall, water so clear you can see 10 metres to the bottom, peregrine falcons overhead, occasional kayakers paddling alongside. The canyon is hidden from the M-17 highway — the only way in is the river.
Lamb in Jablanica is the local thing. Add €18 to the booking and we stop at one of three roadside restaurants on the way back — slow-cooked under the iron bell, salad, fresh bread, takes 90 minutes including the drive. It’s worth doing once.
Itinerary
What you'll experience
Three ways to reach the boat dock
Self-drive (40 min from Mostar, free parking at Donje Paprasko dock), Mostar↔Sarajevo intercity bus (€5, ask the driver to drop you near Donje Paprasko), or book our private round-trip transfer with hotel pickup (€100 vehicle 1–4 guests / €250 vehicle 5–8 guests). Boat departs at 10:00 from Donje Paprasko.
Boat brief & boarding
Choose your boat: small group (max 8, intimate, more time at the beach) or group boat (max 30, family-friendly, on-board sound system). Life jackets handed out, route briefing in English.
Cruise into the Neretva Canyon
Slow cruise north along Lake Grabovica. Prenj rises 1,500 m on the right, Čvrsnica on the left, both with peaks above 2,000 m. The water is jade-green and so clear you can see 8–10 m down. About 50 minutes to Diva Grabovica.
Diva Grabovica beach — 2-hour swim stop
Pull up at the sandy beach in the Diva Grabovica bay. Two hours of free time: swim, jump from the cliffs where Red Bull cliff divers practice, hike the short trail behind the beach, or sunbathe. Picnic spot with a barbecue grill is available.
Return cruise & optional Jablanica lamb stop
Cruise back to Donje Paprasko (50 min). For an extra €18 / person we add a stop at one of Jablanica's roadside lamb restaurants — slow-cooked under the iron bell, salad, fresh bread. Pre-order at booking.
Wrap-up at Donje Paprasko
Boat docks back, you disembark. If you booked our private transfer, the van drops you back at your Mostar hotel by 15:20. If you self-drove or took the bus, you're free to head back at your own pace.

FAQ
Frequently asked
How do I get to the boat dock?
Three options. (1) Self-drive — 40 min north of Mostar on the M-17, free parking at the Donje Paprasko dock. (2) Mostar↔Sarajevo intercity bus, €5 each way, drops you near the dock, runs roughly hourly. (3) Our private round-trip transfer with hotel pickup — €100 / vehicle for 1–4 guests, €250 / vehicle for 5–8 guests, includes wait time and drop-off at your Mostar hotel.
What's the difference between the small boat and the group boat?
The small boat takes up to 8 passengers — quieter, more flexibility for stops, better for couples or families. The group boat takes up to 30, has a sound system and a small bar on board, runs on a fixed schedule. Same route, same beach, same price (€45 / person). Choose at booking; default is small boat unless you ask for the group one.
Is the water deep enough for swimming?
Yes — Lake Grabovica is dam-formed, so it's 30–50 m deep along most of the route. At Diva Grabovica beach the entry is shallow (knee-deep for 5 metres before it drops off). Water temperature 12–14 °C — bracing but swimmable May–September.
Can children come?
Yes. Children 0–7 are free, 8–13 pay €25 (half price), 14+ pay full €45. Junior life jackets included. The group boat is more family-friendly (more space to move around); the small boat is fine but quieter.
What if it rains?
We run in light rain — the boats are partly covered. Heavy rain or lightning storm = we reschedule for free or refund 100%. Lake water level depends on hydroelectric dam releases; the captain checks conditions every morning.
Can I rent the small boat privately?
Yes — €240 for the small boat regardless of group size, up to 8 people. Useful for proposals, family reunions, or photographers who want flexibility on the route. Email or WhatsApp us to arrange.
When does this run?
April through late October. The Neretva is too cold and the wind too strong outside that window. We confirm bookings 24h ahead; bad weather = automatic refund or reschedule.
How does this compare to the kayak tour?
Same canyon, same beach, very different experience. Kayak: self-paddled, more athletic, lets you set your own pace. Boat: relaxed, suitable for non-swimmers and older travellers, more time at the beach (boat captain handles the navigation). If you want to do both — we run a combo day on request.
