About this route

About this transfer

A scenic one-way transfer-tour from Split to Dubrovnik that turns the dead drive along the coast into a Bosnia day — Mostar Old Town, Pocitelj village, optional Kravica swim June–September. Premium private format, max 6 guests, named guide-driver, 9 hours hotel-to-hotel.

Minivan with leather seats, named English-speaking driver-guide, 90-minute Mostar walking tour, lunch at a curated Mostar restaurant, 30-min Pocitelj village walk, optional Kravica swim (June–September), 9-hour day from Split hotel to Dubrovnik hotel.

For most international travellers doing the Croatia coast loop with Bosnia detour, this format means you don’t lose 2 days to Mostar transit (day-trip-then-overnight-then-continue). The transit IS the sightseeing day. Door-to-door, no luggage hassles, no bus station waits, no border-crossing anxiety, no separate Mostar overnight booking.

For groups of 4–6 splitting the cost (€74–110/person), this is competitive with day-tour-then-bus + overnight alternatives. For 2 pax (€221/person), the premium-comfort tier.

For the standard Split → Mostar single-leg transfer at €210/vehicle, see Split to Mostar private transfer. For the equivalent Dubrovnik direction, see Dubrovnik to Sarajevo via Mostar. For the standard Mostar → Dubrovnik direction-only transfer, see Dubrovnik to Mostar private transfer (works in reverse direction at same price).

FAQ

Frequently asked

Why this transfer instead of Split → Dubrovnik direct via the Pelješac Bridge?

**Direct Split → Dubrovnik via the new Pelješac Bridge** is 3.5 hours, ~230 km, all in Croatia, no Bosnia involvement. **Our route via Mostar** is 9 hours, ~420 km, two international borders, but you spend the day **seeing Mostar + Pocitelj + (optionally) Kravica**. **Use direct Pelješac route** if Mostar isn't on your itinerary. **Use this route** if you want a Mostar visit without sacrificing a separate day. The premium format = your transit day IS your sightseeing day.

How long is the Split → Dubrovnik route via Mostar?

**9 hours total door-to-door** including: 3-hour drive Split → Mostar via Makarska Riviera and Neum border (Pocitelj photo stop along the way), 90-minute guided Mostar Old Town walk, lunch in Mostar, 3-hour drive Mostar → Dubrovnik via Neum border. **Total distance**: ~420 km with **two international border crossings** (Croatia → Bosnia at Neum heading inland, then Bosnia → Croatia at the same area heading back to Dubrovnik). **Direct point-to-point**: 6 hours via Mostar without sightseeing. **Adding Kravica**: 10.5 hours (June–September only).

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

**€441/vehicle**, not per person. 8-seater minivan fits **up to 6 passengers + driver-guide**. **Per-person**: 2 pax = €221 each; 4 pax = €110 each; 6 pax = €74 each. **For groups of 7–8** we use a Sprinter (€500/vehicle). **Compare to alternatives**: bus Split → Mostar €25 + Mostar overnight €60-100 + bus Mostar → Dubrovnik €20 = **€105–145/person + a forced overnight in Mostar** + you do all the logistics. Our 1-day premium format breaks even with 4+ passengers. For 2 pax, the per-person cost is the premium tier.

What does the Mostar stop include?

**90-minute guided walking tour** of the Old Town: Stari Most + Old Bazaar (Kujundžiluk) + Crooked Bridge + Koski mosque exterior + bridge-divers context if any are jumping. Your FBiH-licensed driver-guide gives the historical context including 1993 destruction + 2004 reconstruction. **Photo stops**, lunch reservation at a recommended restaurant, optional minaret climb (€2 entry, 15 min adds to schedule). The full **[Mostar Old Town pillar](/things-to-do-in-mostar/)** is bigger than 90 min; this is the highlights walk.

What's the Pocitelj stop?

**30-minute walk through Pocitelj village** plus photo stop at the M17 lookout 1 km north. Pocitelj is a 14th-century Ottoman fortified village above the Neretva, on the route between the Croatian border and Mostar. **Free entry**, the climb to the medieval fortress kula is the highlight of any longer Pocitelj visit but our 30-min stop covers the village walk + best photo angles. For the full hour visit see **[Pocitelj village guide](/pocitelj/)**.

Can we add Kravica Waterfall (June–September)?

**Yes — adds €30–50/vehicle and 1.5 hours to the schedule** (so 10.5-hour day instead of 9). **Best in June–September** when swimming at Kravica is genuinely worth doing (water 16–20°C, 100-metre wide travertine cliff, swim platform open). **Kravica entry**: €10/person paid in cash at the gate. **April–May or October**: still beautiful for photos but cold for swimming. **Nov–Mar**: free entry but no swim platform; consider skipping Kravica and adding Blagaj Tekija instead. WhatsApp **[+387 61 209 388](https://wa.me/38761209388)** to add Kravica when booking.

What about Blagaj instead of or in addition to Pocitelj?

**Blagaj Tekija** (Sufi dervish house at the Buna spring, 12 km southeast of Mostar) is a popular alternative to Pocitelj. **Same time-add as Pocitelj** (~30-45 min), so we can swap on request without changing the 9-hour total. **Adding both Blagaj + Pocitelj**: extra 1 hour. **Adding all three (Blagaj + Pocitelj + Kravica)**: 11+ hour day — feasible in summer but tight; some travellers prefer to break the route over 2 days with overnight in Mostar. WhatsApp us with your priorities.

Where exactly do you pick up in Split?

**Any address in Split area**: hotel (Old Town, Marjan, Bačvice, Žnjan, Stobreč), Riva waterfront, ACI Marina, Split Airport (SPU), bus station, ferry terminal. **For early starts** (e.g., 06:30 from your hotel) — possible, custom-quoted. **For Trogir or Solin pickups**: small surcharge €20–30 for the dead-leg drive. **For Makarska Riviera pickups** (Brela, Tučepi, Baška Voda): small surcharge €30–40. **Cruise port pickups**: standard meet-and-greet protocol; we hold a sign with your name.

Where do you drop off in Dubrovnik?

**Any address in Dubrovnik area**: hotel (Old Town, Lapad, Babin Kuk, Cavtat), Old Town gates, Gruž cruise port (cruise meet-and-greet protocol), Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), bus station. **Time of arrival**: typically 17:00–18:00 with a 09:00 Split pickup. **Outside Dubrovnik metro** (Cavtat, Konavle): no surcharge. **Onward connection** (international flight, ferry to Italy): tell us your timing constraints — we can adapt.

Do I need a passport for this transfer?

**Yes — Bosnia and Herzegovina is outside the EU/Schengen.** Bring physical passport. Two border crossings on this route — both at the Neum corridor area. EU/UK/US/Canada/Australia/most-Asian passport holders enter Bosnia visa-free for 90 days within 180. **Border crossing time**: 10–30 min typical at each border (so 20–60 min total). **In peak July–August Saturdays**: 30–60 min per border. We adjust the route timing for known border traffic patterns.

What's the cancellation policy?

**Free cancellation up to 72 hours before the pickup date.** Within 72 hours: 50% refund. Within 24 hours: non-refundable except for documented force majeure (medical, weather closure, flight cancellation). **Reschedule for free** if you contact us before the pickup time and we have availability on a future date. **Premium format means premium booking discipline** — we block the named guide-driver and the V-class for your day. WhatsApp **[+387 61 209 388](https://wa.me/38761209388)** for any changes.

How is this different from booking 'Split → Mostar day trip + Mostar to Dubrovnik bus next day'?

**Three differences.** **(1) Door-to-door**: drive from your Split hotel to your Dubrovnik hotel — no luggage transfers between bus stations. **(2) Same-day arrival**: don't lose a day to overnighting in Mostar before continuing. **(3) Premium format**: V-class private, named guide, lunch at a curated restaurant. **Cost comparison**: Split → Mostar day-trip €125/person + Mostar overnight €60-100 + Mostar → Dubrovnik bus €18-25 = **€203-250/person + 2 lost days**. Our 1-day version = **€73-220/person depending on group size, single day**. Better suited for 2-week itineraries that don't have time for a forced Mostar overnight.
