What you'll experience
About this experience
The 10-minute boat ride is the only way to see Stari Most from below — and it’s the angle most photographers don’t get.
You board at the dock just below Stari Most, glide directly under the bridge’s 1565 Ottoman stone arch, hold for the iconic from-below shot, and return under the arch to the dock. Skipper speaks English and shares the bridge story along the way.
If a diver jumps from the bridge during your boat window (most days in season, roughly every 15–20 minutes), you’ll see it from the water — the same angle the traditional Mostar postcard never shows.
Daily, April–October. €10 / person, 10 minutes. Book via WhatsApp +387 61 209 388 or walk up at the dock.
For a longer half-day boat experience in the canyon, see our Neretva Canyon Boat Tour from Jablanica (€45 / person).
Itinerary
What you'll experience
Boarding at the dock below Stari Most
Meet your skipper at the riverside dock just below Stari Most (the Old Bridge), east bank. Quick safety brief, life jackets handed out, boat ready.
Pass under Stari Most
The boat glides directly under the Old Bridge. From below, you see the 1565 Ottoman stone arch the way 16th-century traders saw it from the river. If a diver jumps during your window, you'll catch it from the water angle most photographers never see.
Photo turn
Skipper holds the boat for the from-below bridge shot — the angle the standard walking tour can't give you. Quick views of the riverside cafés and the Karadjozbeg mosque dome.
Return under the arch
Second pass under Stari Most heading back to the dock. Different light, different angle — most guests get their best shot on this leg.
Disembark
Back at the dock. Free to wander the Old Bazaar — your skipper can point at the closest restaurants for lunch.

Armel grew up two streets from Stari Most. He's been running tours since 2009; before that he worked as a trainer in grassroots peace-and-reconciliation NGOs after the war. Ask him anything — about the war, the food, the music. He'll have an opinion, and probably a story to back it up.

FAQ
Frequently asked
How long is the boat tour?
10 minutes — short and focused. The boat goes under Stari Most, holds for the iconic from-below photo, and returns under the arch to the dock. Just enough time to get the shot you came for, without sitting through filler.
Do I see Stari Most from below?
Yes — the boat passes directly under the bridge, both directions. This is the angle most travellers don't get on a walking tour. If a diver jumps during your window (most days, every 15–20 min in season), you'll see it from the water.
Where do you board the boat?
The dock is on the east bank, just below Stari Most (the Old Bridge), about 50 metres south of the bridge. We'll send the exact pin after booking. Walking distance from any Old Town hotel.
Is it safe? Can I swim?
Yes — life jackets are handed out before boarding. The Neretva has currents but the boat is low-speed and stays in the calm Old Town stretch. You don't swim from the boat — this is a sightseeing ride, not a swim trip.
When does it run?
April through October, daily, hourly departures 10:00–19:00. Last boat depends on sunset. November–March: weather-dependent, advance booking only.
Can I book on the day?
Yes — walk-up at the dock if there's a free seat. To guarantee a slot, book 24h ahead via WhatsApp +387 61 209 388. Group bookings (6+) always need a day's notice.
How much does it cost?
€10 per person for the standard 10-minute ride, all-inclusive (skipper, life jacket, the from-below bridge shot). Children under 5 free with a paying adult.
