What you'll experience

Cold War history in the morning, Neretva rapids in the afternoon.

The tour starts and ends in Konjic — €105/person for the full bunker + rafting combo day, gear and lunch included. You arrange your own way to Konjic (Mostar–Konjic train or bus is straightforward and scenic, ~€5–7), or book our optional private transfer add-on from Mostar / Sarajevo / coast.

We pick you up at the Konjic train or bus station at 08:30. ARK D-0 is 5 minutes away — Yugoslavia’s secret nuclear bunker (built 1953–1979, declassified 2011, 6,500 m² across three underground levels) gets you a full 2-hour guided walk through the Cold War rooms + contemporary art biennale installations.

Traditional Bosnian lunch at the riverside restaurant. Then 60 minutes upriver to Glavatičevo for the Neretva rafting put-in: 23 km of grade I–III rapids through the Rakitnica canyon. Wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, paddle, neoprene boots — all included. IRF-certified guide in every raft, no experience needed.

Hot showers + digital photos delivered same evening. Drop you back at the Konjic station around 17:00 for your onward leg.

May–October only, kids 10+, max 8 guests. WhatsApp +387 61 209 388 with your origin city + arrival time for a confirmed quote (and transfer pricing if you want us to drive).

FAQ

Frequently asked

How do I get to Konjic for this tour?

**Two ways**, your choice. **Public transport:** Mostar → Konjic by train (~1h 15min, ~€5) or bus (~1h 10min, ~€7); Sarajevo → Konjic by train (~1h 30min) or bus (~1h 15min). **We pick you up at the Konjic station** at 08:30 — no extra cost. **Private transfer add-on (door-to-door):** Mostar → Konjic round-trip ~€90–120/vehicle (1–4 pax) or ~€150/vehicle (5–8 pax); Sarajevo → Konjic round-trip ~€120–150/vehicle. WhatsApp **[+387 61 209 388](https://wa.me/38761209388)** with your origin city and group size for an exact transfer quote.

Why does the tour start in Konjic?

**ARK D-0 and the rafting base are both in the Konjic region** — the bunker is 5 minutes from the centre, the rafting put-in 60 minutes upstream. Starting in Konjic keeps the price tight (€105/person includes bunker entry + lunch + full gear + guides + photos) and gives you flexibility on how you arrive. **For travellers without a car**, the Mostar–Konjic train through the Neretva canyon is genuinely scenic — many guests treat it as part of the experience. **For groups**, our private transfer add-on is competitive with chauffeur alternatives.

Is the rafting hard? Have I done enough by the time we hit the river?

The Neretva is mostly grade I–II with two grade III sections — beginner-friendly. By the time we hit the water (2 PM), you've had a full Bosnian lunch and a relaxed bunker tour. You'll be fresh enough. Most guests have never rafted before.

Is there a minimum age?

10 years for the rafting (gentle grade I–II only for kids 10–14). Bunker tour is fine for any age but interesting from 8+. We don't recommend this combo for under-10 — bunker is too long, rafting age limit is 10.

What if I can't swim?

You'll wear a life jacket the entire time on the water. Non-swimmers can do this tour — tell the guide before launch and they'll position you in a safe seat. Most rafts have at least one non-swimmer.

Is the bunker claustrophobic?

Less than people expect. Corridors are wide (anti-blast spec), rooms large. If you've been in a Metro station, you're fine. Constant 18–22 °C inside year-round — surprisingly comfortable.

When is this tour available?

May–October only — rafting season. Bunker is open year-round but the river is too cold November–April. June–September is peak. The bunker is closed Mondays so this combo runs Tue–Sun only.

What should I bring?

Swimsuit (under wetsuit), quick-dry towel, sunscreen, hat, comfortable closed-toe shoes for the bunker (kept in the van during rafting). Dark clothes for bunker photos. Cash €10–20 for souvenirs. Everything else included — wetsuit, helmet, jacket, lunch.

Is breakfast included?

No — eat at your Mostar hotel before pickup. Lunch IS included (between bunker and rafting). Most hotels serve breakfast from 7 AM, our pickup is 8 AM.

Will I get photos?

Yes — photos from the river included. Our guides shoot from the rafts and canyon edges. WhatsApp link to high-res JPGs same evening or next morning. Bunker photos are on you (full freedom inside, including Tito's office).

How does this compare to doing them separately?

Separately from Konjic: **[Tito's Bunker tour](/tito-bunker/)** is €35/person, **[Neretva rafting](/rafting-neretva/)** is €70/person = **€105 total**. The combo is **€105 — same total, but orchestrated as one day**: same vehicle, same Konjic-station pickup at 08:30, lunch built into the schedule between bunker and put-in. The combo saves you the logistics of organising two separate days; the price is identical.
